| The Roman Wall is but a short distance away from the ancient Roman town of Corbridge, and the Errington is the ideal spot for a pub lunch, romantic dinner, or a good night with friends: So after a day of adventure along the frontier of the Roman Empire, a good hearty meal with a great atmosphere is just at hand.

This fine old 18th century watering hole has recently undergone a complete refurbishment, and is now serving fine real ales, and fantastic cuisine to all it's many patrons. The very relaxed and convivial atmosphere is courtesy of the father and son team, and Nick Shotton, who have undertaken the task of bringing this great old lady bang up to date, but you'll still find all the old beams and delightful old world touches.

You can feel the warmth of the log fires, as you sit in the flickering candlelight in the evening, and be charmed by the intimate tables and characterful wooden floors.

There's no mistaking a great country pub when you see one, and The Errington Arms has kept all it's charm, and added a bit of modern zest with a fabulous new restaurant. Naturally every dish is made to your exact specifications as soon as you order, and with a choice of delicious home made dishes you can't go wrong.

Try the special Credit Crunch main meals at only £7.95, duck and Port mouse with redcurrant and mint coullis, fried king prawns with a bean sprout salad and a chilli soy broth, lamb and beef stew, seared duck breast with a chive and mushroom risotto and blueberry and red wine jus, pig on a plate, plus wild boar and pheasant pie. Of course if you want, you can always get a great ploughman's lunch, salad, soup, or a nice sandwich!

Nick's mum makes all the delicious puds with her own fair hands, and boy do they taste good! There's sticky toffee pudding, strawberry Pavlova, Whisky, honey and Drambuie crème Brule! Each and every one of them comes highly recommended, so go on try the lot.
